On the Radio
Doc and I have been working hard to get us on the Radio. Mostly him, I have to say, he's got the contacts and the drive. So we are now on rotation on KRFC, the local Ft. Collins station. I think most of the D.J.'s there have played us at one time or another. Ft. Collins really supports their local artists and they will not only play your stuff, they will help you publicize your shows. Very Cool of Them. Anyway, he is also working on the rest of the Colorado public radio stations and says up to 19 radio stations could be playing us soon. It's crazy enough to hear your song on the radio but to think that people all over Colorado would know who we were is pretty wild.
I am also interested in which songs they have chosen to play. I am not in the radio biz, so I wonder how they choose a song. They must have to make snap decisions as to what people will like and what goes with their playlist that day. I guess my theory is that maybe they don't listen that long before they say, "Ok, I like that one." It's the only explanation I can think of as to why they aren't playing "Driftin' " It's the only song the D.J's haven't played yet and we can't figure out why. I admit it's kind of the odd man out on the CD, it's different from the rest, but that's what makes it great. It builds kind of slowly, so if you didn't listen long you might not "get into" it. Maybe it's just too slow and dreamy for them. But we think it's a great song. Is it possible we're the only ones who like it? Looks like we're going to have to call KRFC and request it, we need to solve this mystery. Listen to it and tell me what you think.
